Georgia Sports Hall of Fame to induct Gibson, Butler
MACON -- Buena Vista native Josh Gibson, who had 962 home runs and a .354 batting average in 17 years as a Negro League player headlines the 2003 inductees for the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
Also being inducted in February are former Georgia and Chicago Bears place-kicker Kevin Butler; golfer DeWitt Weaver; high school basketball coach Wallace Childs; marathon runner Gayle Barron; and women's basketball pioneer Anne Paradise Hansford.
