The Leon Day Foundation held its fourth annual Family Fun Festival on Saturday, June 15, 2003.
Baltimore Police Commissioner Kevin P. Clark was the grand marshal of a parade which began at Alexander Hamilton Elementary School (Baltimore, MD) and ended at Leon Day Park.
The festivities ran from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and featured food, music, exhibits, and fun for all. Even the famous Baltimore Orioles “Bird” attended the festivities.
Leon Day, a Negro League star and Baltimore resident, died in 1995, six days after learning he had been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
