April 23, 2002, OBITUARY: JAMES C. ‘FIREBALL’ COHEN

Former Negro Leagues pitcher for the Indianapolis Clowns, at 84. Cohen played from 1946-52, and was a teammate of Hank Aaron.

Loving husband of Thelma Cohen; devoted father of James C., Jr. and Edward C. Cohen, Sr. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one loving brother Fred Cohen; a cherished niece Lawanda Cohen; a host of other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Friendship AOH Church of God, 5421 Decatur Street, Hyattsville, MD. Interment Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, VA on Tuesday, April 30 at 10 a.m.
