MARLIN CARTER

Born: Dec. 27, 1912
Died: Dec. 20, 1993

In a baseball career that spanned from 1932 to 1951, Marlin Carter earned his place as one of Negro baseball's finest and most durable infielders. From the rugged competition of the Texas Negro Leagues in the 1920s, through Negro baseball's golden era in the 1940s, Carter lived a dream formed on the sandlots of East Texas.

Marlin played for the Memphis Red Sox, Cincinnati Tigers, and the Chicago American Giants and appeared in the East-West All Star Game in 1942.
